In 1964 Malta became independent from the British but you will still see some familiar things such as the red post box and driving on the left-hand side of the road. The locals all speak good English and make you feel very welcome. A trip to the island of Gozo is well worth it with spectacular scenery, quiet harbour villages and the capital Victoria, with its cathedrals, Main Square and museums. |
